The IDRSBC is a not-for-profit service that provides dispute resolution
options to the insuring public and the insurance industry. We offer
the following lower-cost and faster options to court for resolving
insurance disputes:
Mediation
An informal meeting with a mediator who helps the parties to negotiate
their own agreement.
Arbitration
Both sides present their case to an arbitrator who makes a binding
decision on the outcome of the dispute.
Mini-Trials
A retired judge gives an opinion on the probable outcome if your
dispute goes to court. The parties can then choose if they would
like to abide by the judges recommendation or continue with another
dispute resolution method.
Multi-Party
Any of the above options when three or more parties
are involved in the dispute.
These services can be used to resolve any type of insurance dispute
including:
- insured:insurance company claims
- coverage or quantum issues
- insurance company:broker
- contracts or commissions issues
- broker:adjuster contracts
- adjuster:insurance company contracts
