Q. If I have an insurance dispute and I don’t know what
to do or where to turn, what should I do?
A. Call Peter Wright at IDRSBC and he will outline options for
you to consider. This will be done in a neutral, objective manner.
There is no cost for the initial consultation.
Q. I notice that IDRSBC is financially sponsored by the Insurance
Brokers Association of B.C. Will this mean that my discussions with
IDRSBC may be biased in a broker’s favor?
A. No. IDRSBC works in a completely neutral and confidential manner.
IBABC finances the operation as a service to the insuring public
and the insurance industry. Its manager, Peter Wright, reports to
a board of trustees who represent all facets of the insurance industry.
Q. How much will it cost me if I decide to use the services of
IDRSBC?
A. The charge is intended to be reasonable to the parties:
$100.00 per hour (minimum charge $100.00).
You can stipulate the maximum fee that you wish to spend.
Q. Is the process confidential?
A. Yes. All discussions and negotiations are carried out on a completely
confidential basis.
Q. Am I guaranteed a successful outcome to my dispute?
A. No. But IDRSBC will assist you to the best of its ability to
bring your file to a conclusion depending on the circumstances.
