The People & Performance team here at Westland is growing and we are adding an HR Business Partner to the team in South Surrey, BC.  This is the perfect position if you are looking to play a key role in a rapidly growing organization.

The Opportunity:

 
In the position of HR Business Partner, you are a trusted advisor across the company to ensure the ongoing development and implementation of programs and benefits that align with Westland’s goals.
 
You will act as a resource to managers and champion a positive work environment through the promotion and communication of the People and Performance strategies.

The HR Business Partner is a key contributor to support the company in achieving high levels of employee engagement.
 
You will:

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, to ensure continuous improvement of employee engagement and retention
  • Partner with managers to ensure People & Performance programs and practices are communicated and maximized
  • Act as a resource and support managers in effectively addressing people management challenges such as: change initiatives, attendance, and disability management issues
  • Administer and track Salary Continuance and Long-term Disability programs; as well as the Employee Assistance Program
  • Assist hiring managers in recruitment as required and provides back-up to the Talent Acquisition Business Partner
  • Participate in an annual review of the Westland benefits offering as well as analysis of benefits for acquisitions
  • Provide support to Managers in generating Employment Agreements for new or transitioning employees
  • Maintain and update policies and procedures in the Westland Employee Handbook

 

Here’s what you bring:

 

  • 5-8 years’ of progressive experience in HR
  • Certified Professional Human Resources (CPHR)
  • University Degree
  • Solid understanding of relevant laws & regulations (BC and Alberta)
