Summary of Position

The Personal Lines Insurance Representative, Digital Leads Specialist, is accountable for providing a high level of customer service to a diverse clientele in recognizing and responding appropriately to new business development opportunities sourced by digital leads. In addition, the personal lines representative is responsible for achieving new sales and growth opportunities for the organization, providing sales leadership/mentorship, and distributing leads across the group.

Lines of Business

The Personal Lines Insurance Representative, Digital Leads Specialist handles all types of personal insurance (standard, high value, and hard-to-place), pleasurecraft, and travel medical insurance.


  • A minimum 2 years’ experience in personal insurance
  • Carries a General Agent Level 2 Insurance License through the Insurance Council of British Columbia
  • Carries a Registered Insurance Broker of Ontario License (RIBO), or willing to obtain within 6 months
  • Has their Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) or Chartered Insurance Professional designation, or working towards.
  • Technologically proficient with the ability to learn and adapt to new programs such as Broker Management Systems, Customer Relationship Management Systems, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities :

New Business & Lead Generation:

  • Demonstrate needs-based sales behavior, including reactive and tag-on selling, building additional relationships with new customers sourced by digital leads, asking for referrals, generating new business and increasing customer retention
  • Maintain a diary of prospective clients and follow-up on digital sales leads, distributing leads throughout the group accordingly
  • Building additional relationships with customers, asking for referrals, generating new business and increasing customer retention
  • Working closely with our Vice President of Marketing and E-Commerce on technology to further develop online lead generation and quoting
  • Providing sales training and mentorship for select Personal Lines staff across the group
  • Ensure that all notes to file are completed after each transaction in a timely, accurate manner. Use of the Activity function is used and updated.

Customer Service:

  • Provide friendly, professional service to customers
  • Handle routine customer inquiries/concerns
  • Return all digitally sourced customer inquiries/leads in a timely manner
  • Ensure work is prompt, efficient and accurate


  • Process payments
  • Work accounts receivable lists
  • File/scan own files
  • Ensure all documents are accurate and files are kept in an orderly manner
