Summary of Position

The Account Manager reports to the Manager, Broking Service & Account Administration, and works closely with Account Executives on existing and developing portfolios of commercial insurance business, including new business opportunities and initiatives.

Lines of Business

The Account Manager handles various types of commercial insurance.

Qualifications

  • The Account Manager has a minimum 3 years commercial insurance experience and carries a General Agent Level 2 Insurance License through the Insurance Council of British Columbia.
  • CAIB or CIP insurance designation an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of SigXP or ComXP an asset
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to handle pressure in a time constrained environment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple files and deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail

Additional Responsibilities

Customer Service & Producer Support:

  • Obtains underwriting information from potential and renewal clients, creates and sends submissions to underwriters (where re-marketing is required) and liaises with clients on the status of their request for coverage or renewal
  • Presents quotes and/or renewals to clients, obtain orders and binds coverage with underwriters
  • Maintains a technical and service oriented relationship with the clients
  • Keeps the Account Executives up to date on the status of client files
  • Issues invoices, endorsements, cover notes, financing contracts, etc. Inputs new data on claims and keeps clients up to date
  • Provides friendly, professional service to customers and producers
  • Handles routine customer and producer inquiries/concerns
  • Manages daily administration including correspondence, policy wording review, contract & lease agreement review, issuance of new and renewal documentation
  • Returns all customer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Ensures work is prompt, efficient and accurate

Administration:

  • Works accounts receivable lists
  • Maintains expiration and abeyance files
  • Files/scans files
  • Handles of files and general file maintenance
  • Ensures all documents are accurate and files are kept in an orderly manner
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Leads by example, being a positive role model
  • Contributes to a positive team environment by working efficiently, professionally and in a friendly manner
  • Improve our organization by sharing ideas and opinions, contributing and building communication in all directions and levels
