The evolution of business activities in people’s homes has had a huge impact on the P&C insurance industry and there is no end in sight. Whether it is the part-time hobbyist who has turned his or her personal interest into a moneymaking venture or the serious entrepreneur, the ramifications to policies are significant. In this seminar, you will come to understand the serious restrictions contained in all policies – both Personal Lines and Commercial Lines - when a business activity is present and will help you identify and secure alternate forms of coverage to address the exposures. Most importantly, you will gain a better understanding of how underwriters perceive this additional risk, which will assist you in your discussions with them and your Insureds.

Think like a Judge to Better Understand Coverages -NEW-
3 Technical Credits
Krista Prockiw
While you, the broker, may arrange for a policy to be issued by an insurer, at some point a judge in a court of law has made a determination or has had some influence on the coverages afforded under that policy. This excellent, half-day seminar will re-focus you on how to view issues relating to policy claims and will teach you how to analyze coverages from a judicial standpoint. You will be introduced to the rules of interpretation utilized by the courts to resolve coverage disputes and will take these rules and apply them to real situations and recent court decisions. The session will be structured to allow for a hands-on approach that will give you the opportunity to make arguments for and against coverage and to ultimately "think like a judge."
Who Should Attend: All brokers at all levels.
