What follows is a list of Frequently Asked Questions that we receive from brokers regarding Licensing Education.

What are the current editions of the CAIB textbooks?

CAIB Textbook Current Edition

How do I upgrade to a level 2 license?

Once you have obtained your level one license, you will require both CAIB 2 and CAIB 3 to upgrade to a level two license.

How do I register for the ICBC Autoplan Essentials Course?

The "Autoplan Essentials" course is provided by ICBC Education. Please contact them at 604-661-6314.

What if I do not agree with my CAIB mark?

You can have your exam remarked by submitting your request within two weeks of receiving your marks. Costs are $75 for members and $125 for non members. Please be aware that all exams scoring between 55% and 59% are automatically remarked, free of charge, in order to ensure the accuracy of your result.

How do I register for a CAIB exam?

You may register three ways: by mail/courier, by fax or on-line.

Can I use my credit card to pay for my course?

Yes, we accept Visa and Mastercard for your convenience.

Where can I write my CAIB Exam?

CAIB exams are written at over 45 areas of the province. IBABC will do its best to provide a convenient location. Within the lower mainland, exams are only written in Vancouver and Abbotsford.

How many credits will I receive for writing my CAIB Exam?

Students who have taken a CAIB course since their last license renewal will receive Continuing Education credits based on the results of their exam as follows:

0 - 59 0 credits
60 - 100 8 hours of credit

What other courses are available after I have graduated from CAIB?

The CPIB and CCIB designations are available to CAIB grads. Please click on the appropriate designation to find out more information.
