This national designation has long been recognized as the mark
of insurance brokerage knowledge and experience.
The CCIB Program is a self-study program involving three exams. The
exams are practical and experience-based.

If a candidate is unsuccessful with either written
exam (part 1 or 2), they will be given the opportunity to challenge that part again on the
next available examination date without losing credit for the part already completed. |

Survey
Examination
(either oral or written)
- Successful completion of both
parts 1 and 2 (written exams) are a prerequisite to
the survey exam
- If you choose the oral exam,
three panelists test you by playing the role of curious
customers for whom you have prepared an insurance
portfolio (based on a client needs portfolio given
to you beforehand)
- Oral exam date arranged at
a mutually agreeable time for you and the Brokers
Association
- If you choose the written
exam, you will have a 5 hour open-book exam to prepare
the insurance proposal

There are no books specifically for the exams. You may enhance
the knowledge you have gained from your experience by using CAIB
1, 2, 3 and 4 as a study aid.
The CCIB exam are written at the same time as the May
CAIB exams and the December CAIB exams.
