Introduction to Risk Management
Developed by the Insurance Institute of America,
the Introduction to Risk Management self-study course is ideal for brokers who deal in
personal lines and small to medium-sized commercial risks.
The course is designed for brokers who would like to have a basic
understanding of
- what risk managers do,
- how they do it, and
- why risk management is important.
The textbook consists of six chapters that take a case-study
approach.
Writing the Exam
The course ends with a two-hour examination. The examination consists of two types
of questions: short-answer definition and questions related to a case study that requires
you to analyze a situation and apply what youve learned.
The dates and registration
deadlines are identical to those for the CAIB examinations.
The exam is graded in the U.S.A.
