Video Tape Seminars
There are currently 45 videos available, divided into four categories:
Each video tape seminar qualifies participants for two (2)
Continuing Education (CE) credits. All Homeowners, Liability,
and Commercial Property videos provide Technical accreditation.
All Customer Service videos provide Professional accreditation.
How the Video Seminar Program Works
Workbooks must be purchased with each video. Each participant
is required to complete his or her own workbook and must keep
their workbook/s following the viewing of the video. Participants
must keep their completed workbooks to substantiate their Continuing
Education (CE) credits. Sufficient workbooks must be purchased
for the number of participants requiring accreditation (facilitator
excluded).
A facilitator is required to organize and run a video seminar.
The facilitator must be present while the seminar is being held,
to review the answers to the workbook with the participants, and
to initiate discussion on the related topics. A person acting
as a video seminar facilitator must be a Level 3 General Insurance
Broker or have equivalent experience with a full CAIB designation.
Facilitators are not required to purchase workbooks to receive
Continuing Education credits. The program is collaborative. Therefore,
a facilitator cannot facilitate himself or herself for a video
seminar.
The facilitator must complete the video seminar accreditation
forms that accompany the videos and return the originals of those
forms to the IBABC office in order for participants to be eligible
for their Continuing Education credits.
Provided that the video seminar lasts for a minimum of two (2)
hours, the participants and the facilitator will be entitled to
two (2) hours (maximum) of CE credits per video.
According the Insurance
Council of B.C. accreditation regulations, you can only earn
a maximum of six (6) CE credits per day. Therefore, you should not
attempt to watch more than three (3) videos in one day.
Each video is due back to the IBABC office one week after the
rental date. Failure to return the video by the due date may result
in late fees. IBABC appreciates your consideration in this regard
as others may be waiting to rent the videos. The IBABC reserves
the right to charge the renter for the replacement cost of lost
or damaged videos for which the loss or damage is caused by the
renter.
