Scholarships
Children of insurance industry practitioners can give their post-secondary education a leg-up with one of several scholarships available to them:
A.H.B. "Spoon" Wotherspoon Memorial Scholarship
- Administered by IBABC
- $1,000 for first year of post-secondary education
- Applicants must be an employee or a relative of a member of IBABC
- Deadline for application is March 31
Autoplan Brokers Legacy Scholarship
- Administered by IBABC and CUISA
- $2,500 for first or subsequent year of post-secondary education
- Applicants must be a licensee at an Autoplan brokerage or the child of an Autoplan broker
- Deadline for application is September 1
Don Ungaro President's Memorial Scholarship
- Administered by IBABC
- $1,500 for first or subsequent year of post-secondary education
- Applicants must be an employee or a relative of a member of IBABC
- Deadline for application is March 31
John M. Toomer Education Scholarship
- Administered by IBABC
- $2,500 for first or subsequent year of study in a post-secondary institution
- Applicants must be employed or related to an individual employed in the insurance industry in BC with added preference given to applicants with a connection to members of the IBABC
- Deadline for application is March 31
John F. Hamilton Scholarship
- Administered by IBABC
- Preference for this $3,500 scholarship given to applicants in second year of university
- Applicants must be related to an individual employed in the insurance industry
- Deadline for application is September 1
