ICBC’s Insurance Rating Model

Starting September 2019, ICBC will be moving to a more driver-based insurance model, and each driver’s experience and crash history will play a bigger role in determining premiums. With this shift, drivers will be held more accountable for their driving decisions. Join ICBC senior leaders for this presentation covering key aspects of these changes including the change management and implementation plans, broker training information, the customer awareness campaign and broker remuneration. ICBC will also be welcoming feedback and suggestions to ensure customers and brokers are as prepared as possible for the changes coming soon.
IBABC Annual General Meeting

Louis Gagnon, President of Canadian Operations, Intact Financial Corporation
Louis Gagnon started with Intact in 2007 and now leads all of its Canadian-based business entities. He became an insurance broker in 1992, and while leading a brokerage with offices in Quebec and Ontario, he was active within the provincial and national brokers associations.
Carol Jardine, President of Canadian Property and Casualty Operation, Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company
Carol Jardine was president and COO of CUMIS from 2004 to 2010, and president and COO of Canadian Northern Shield in B.C. until 2008. She was VP Claims Services at TD Insurance until 2014, then led her own consulting service before joining Wawanesa in 2016.
Doug Porter, Chief Economist, BMO Capital Markets
Dough Porter took over as the chief economist at BMO Capital Markets in 2013. He puts his more than 25 years of experience analyzing global economies and financial markets to work overseeing macroeconomic and financial market forecasts.
Tom Reikman, Senior Vice-President & Chief Distribution Officer, Economical Insurance
Tom heads up management of Economical’s broker distribution channel across Canada, including corporate marketing and communications. He is also the Chairman of the Board for Family Insurance. Tom has over 25 years of senior management experience within the Canadian P&C Insurance market including underwriting, claims, marketing and operations.
Mark Rouleau, Senior Vice President, Aviva Canada
Mark Rouleau lives and works in Calgary where he has been the Western Canada leader for several years. He has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry with senior management experience in claims, underwriting, business development and region business unit functions.
Martin Thompson, President & CEO, RSA Canada
Martin Thompson has been part of the RSA Group since 1997, and has held progressively senior roles globally including director, Underwriting & Risk, with RSA’s Scandinavian operations. He also serves on the board of the Property and Casualty Insurance Compensation Corporation (PACICC).

Tee time! We’ve arranged for 20 foursomes (80 player spots) with tee times available from 11:42 a.m. to 2:33 p.m., or possibly before 9:30 a.m. at the Cordova Bay Golf Course in Victoria. Hold meetings Friday morning or host brokers for a lunch at the course before heading out onto the green. Tee times will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis as best we can.
